CHA membership guarantees the centre has been physically inspected, staff hold recognised qualifications, water quality is independently tested, and the centre holds appropriate insurance. Each centre displays an annual certificate.

About this accreditation

The CHA sets Quality Standards for canine hydrotherapy centres, conducts inspections, and maintains a register. Membership is for centres (not individuals). Staff must hold at minimum a Level 3 Certificate in Small Animal Hydrotherapy. The CHA is the only association whose centres must have a practitioner holding a QCF-recognised qualification.

Who can hold this accreditation

Centres are inspected against CHA Quality Standards. Staff must hold minimum Level 3 certificate. Water quality must be independently tested at least annually.

Referral requirement

Yes — legally required under the Veterinary Surgeons (Exemptions) Order 2015. All CHA centres must obtain veterinary consent before treating.
