About this accreditation

The IVCA is an international non-profit dedicated to promoting excellence in veterinary chiropractic. It accredits training courses, administers certification examinations, and maintains a register. Applicants must be a qualified veterinarian OR a qualified chiropractor, then complete a minimum 210-hour approved course and pass a certification exam.

Who can hold this accreditation

Must be a qualified veterinarian or qualified chiropractor. Must complete an IVCA-approved basic animal chiropractic course (minimum 210 hours). Must pass the IVCA certification exam (120 MCQ written paper + practical exam on dog and horse).

Referral requirement

In the UK, legally mandated for chiropractors treating animals under the Veterinary Surgeons (Exemptions) Order 2015. If the IVCA member is themselves a vet, they can treat directly.
